Christmas at the Caverns – San Antonio, TX

This post does not contain affiliate links but is sponsored by the Natural Bridge Caverns. These are all my own (and my kid's) thoughts, ideas and comparisons. Thanks for reading about Christmas at the Caverns – San Antonio, TX.

Christmas at the Caverns Details

The Natural Bridge Caverns celebrate Christmas unlike anywhere else! Nestled in the scenic Texas Hill Country, they kick their holiday festivities up a notch. Hear your favorite carols echo through Texas’ largest underground cavern. Get pictures with Santa “Spelunker” Claus, then round up his reindeer in an outdoor maze. As the sun sets behind their 30-foot tall Christmas tree, a hayride rolls through the hills, families roast s’mores, enjoy games, music, a giant snow globe, skating, and more.

Cost: Adults – $27.99 & Kids – $23.99 and you can add on Caroling in the Caverns for $10 (you MUST do this) and Twisted Trails for $10 (buy online in advance & pick up at Will Call to skip the lines)

Dates in 2019: December 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 23

Who Can Go: In my opinion, everyone is welcome and will be comfortable in the main square however the cavern hike is not suitable for little ones or those who struggle walking as the walk ways are narrow and steep.

Coupon Code: during December each guest who brings a nonperishable food item to donate to the SA Food Bank will receive $2 off an adult or $1 off a child Cavern tour ticket, redeemable for any Cavern tour.

Giving Back: A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank.

Our Christmas at the Caverns Experience

YOU HAVE TO GO! Seriously guys, this is a must attend this holiday season. And you have to add on the Caroling in the Caverns pass. Get there right when they open and you will easily have enough stuff to do all the way until they kick you out lol.

We arrived right when the doors opened and we walked around the park to take everything in. Then we went on our Caroling in the Caverns tour (these are scheduled) and that experience was divine! The acoustics + the scene was an experience I will never forget. Even my 5 year old and 8 year old loved it! Warning, it is a very humid 70 degrees in there so arrive hydrated with good walking shoes on. After the caroling we went and enjoyed faux ice skating, the light show and the maze. All of which were so much fun.

Texas Family Fun

We decided to pack a lunch so we could spend all our money on activities and sweet treats. So we threw 4 sandwiches in a back pack and ate those at the picnic tables which can be found throughout the park under the lights. As soon as we were done eating we went and did some panning for gems and the girls LOVED that. Next we grabbed hot chocolates and s'mores and headed to the camp fire. Adults, they do have a few adult beverages available as well. Next, we took on the Amaze'n Maze where we had to find all of Santa's reindeer, I was surprised how much my kids loved this and how good they were.

Next we went and relaxed on the Cowboy Hayride. Fully wrapped in Christmas blankets we listened to Christmas music and looked at beautiful lights. We wrapped up our experience with more “ice” skating and a picture in the life size snow globe. We ran out of time to take on the Twisted Trails but we will definitely be going back for that, it looks awesome. All in all, we give this Christmas experience 4 big thumbs up and we will be back in 2020!

xoxo Samantha
